Why we do what we do

INFORMATIONconcepts recognises that evidence (raw data, statistics, etc) is limited in the Caribbean. What's more, there seems to be a phobia about providing evidence, especially raw data. This of course limits and frustrates the amount of analytical work and research that can be done. Additionally, national policies seem to be hanging on just a thread of evidence.

INFORMATIONconcepts believes that it has a responsibility to the region to ensure that decisions (economic, social, political, financial) at all levels (individual, firm, societal, national) are based on quality evidence. We see our role in the CARICOM economic integration process as one that is facilitative - helping to remove the data phobia and to destroy the impediments to establishing a culture of evidenced-based policy and decision-making.

We take this responsibility seriously. We will use a variety of media to educate, advocate and influence how evidence (in all its forms) is regarded.
